Madonna’s Hydrangeas Comment Video Goes Viral

The video with Madonna’s hydrangeas comment has scored more than a million views in four days. Besides the pop star is being criticized for making it. At the Venice Film Festival press conference Madonna was given a bouquet of hydrangeas by a fan. Thanking him Madonna then hid the bouquet under the table and leaned toward the neighbor on her right to say:

I absolutely loathe hydrangeas. He obviously doesn’t know that.

Reportedly she didn’t know her microphone was on and the video captured her facial expression, which wasn’t favoring that hydrangea bouquet and a comment to her press conference neighbor. Of course, the comment has drawn negative reaction from the public while the video went viral on YouTube.

Madonna’s representative stated that:

She’s entitled to like any flower she wants and she didn’t want to hurt the feeling of the hydrangeas of the world,” the rep said in a short statement. “No disrespect to the hydrangeas lovers of the world but she prefers different types of flowers.

I don’t know if that video even deserves so many views. She didn’t like the flowers. The guy didn’t know she “absolutely loathes” them. She should have kept it to herself, yes, but she chose not to (which was a bad decision being on a press conference with the mics and all). The fan could have heard it, the comment. But well, he anyway did after all. I feel bad.

Anyway the whole thing is just so typical. Press conference, mics are live, cameras are rolling and someone spurts out something rude or stupid. Happens all the time. I feel there is a lesson here. Yeah, if you don’t want to be heard by everyone in the press conference room, just don’t say “it” out loud.

What do you think of hydrangeas?
